KUALA LUMPUR: Sports Toto Bhd is confident of continuing to lead in terms of market share in the number forecast operation (NFO) business for the financial year ending June 30, 2023 (FY23).

“The directors are cautiously optimistic that the group’s businesses will remain steadfast with the resilient nature of the NFO business, as noted in the past economic crises and turbulent periods,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.Sports Toto’s net profit jumped 52.3% to RM46.41mil, or earnings per share of 3.46 sen in the fourth quarter ended June 30, compared with RM30.47mil, or EPS of 2.27 sen a year ago.

The group posted a higher revenue of 29.6% to RM1.46bil from RM1.13bil last year primarily due to higher sales contributed by STM Lottery Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd) as well as by H.R. Owen Plc.

The board has declared the total fourth interim dividend to be equivalent to 4.7 sen per share.

The entitlement date has been fixed on Oct 4 and payable on Oct 21.
